Guys, I think somewhere in the past there has been some info on the interview porocess.

But here is a brief missive.

If what I heard about the CX interview is true, then this is not like CX! It is a 3 part process ( well four really because you have to get by "Joakilla"!! she is the secretary who gathers all the relevant documents, issues the application forms and basically checks your logbooks - a bit of dragon acting a little above her station).

First interview is with two or three management pilots - failrly strait forward - one chap asks about personal history - here such questions as why you want to join, are you aware of the cost of living, driving cars, etc etc. The other chap may go into some generic technical questions - really nothing OTT. Oh yes, all interviews (except with the dragon) are jeopardy.

Get thru the first and it's on to the sim, which is a 3 minute walk away. Absolutely strait forward - very procedural with FD's on ( except for steep turns), AT on, and for the 777 the TAC on. Except for the horror of doing it in some a/c type sim you have never flown, really it should not be a problem ( but a few have come short). Pass that, they offer you to go for the medical and theoretically that is that, although do be aware that the final say really is with the wonderful government, who the airline actually apply to, for your work permit.

Hope this is of use. Also be aware that the SARS paycut is still applicable - nearly two years after it was shoved down our throats the damn pay cut is still on the payslip - down right insulting!
