The move of Eastern to Aviance had nothing to do with bmi or the LCY route. Eastern are moving as a result of less than adequate performance by their current supplier and Aviance offered a good deal.
The LCY route may happen but not on behalf of bmi who announced yesterday they are scrapping the route from 29th April.
Eastern Engineers will perform the powerbacks from the end of May due to, as you rightly comment, a lack of ground support. Rumour has it they are leasing Aviance equipment pending a start up of Aviance on the ramp. About time too !
Totally agree with your other comments, it's like proper airports were 20 years ago ! Wake up LBIA and catch up......
