Turbofan, please don't judge the rest of us by the likes of J Lo, etc.,(who could be anybody, including management, CX crew, non-CX crew, or any other !!!!!-stirrer). You have called at a rather tense time and on most subjects you will find a general agreement to keep silent from the vast majority of genuine CX crew.

To answer your original post: Hong Kong is vibrant, exciting, entrepeneurial, modern, has loads of money to spend on state-of-the-art stuff and does so. It is also very expensive, polluted, ferociously hot and humid in the summer months, has very little in the way of a collective social conscience and also has Big Brother Beijing looking over its shoulder.

Good luck with your application but do not be fooled by the shiny jets - there are a multitude of unexpected hoops to jump through, many of which have nothing to do with aviation which may cause the shine to tarnish. That's up to you.
