Biscuit Chucker,

You are absolutely correct in pulling me up for my error of MARK HASSELL's name. I had recieved a QF letter with the spelling "Cassell," which I had verified this afternoon and corrected. My apologies to anyone offended.
Galley Hag, what amazes me is persons like yourself that keep on ranting and raving about "us" strikebreakers. All the permanent LH ans SH crews I know personally have been supportive and positive towards oneself obtaining a position within QF. And guess what? I did get one! As for the whole "strikebreaking" options there was ALOT of misinformation about the options we got, even through the panel interviews. Vast amounts of people got dealt a bad hand, but that's life. You learn and move on! Period!!!
I'm NOT going to sit here and carry on with a lengthy justification. But I WILL say this. Qantas is a business. They ARE in the business of making money. Now you can either get in the game and perform or you can sit there and sook like every other whinging QF F/A about conditions and wages etc. The system will change whether you like it or NOT, and as a fellow member of the union do you really think the union will do all that much (9% over 3 years). Hmmm. Unfortunately Qantas is years behind the rest of the muli-corporate world as far as contract work is concerned but they are catching up fast. Why? Profits!
Now you can either get smarter and play the game, improve your position within the company or you can sit there, talk about the good old days and be left behind. It's your choice. Like OZ said there ARE people dying for those jobs. Just remember you may be the one who will be on the outside looking in - in the future! You may be thinking he's only new to the industry "what would he know". Like I said QF is a business, just like BHP, Woodside, Patricks etc. I have seen the insides of these businesses first hand and they did this years ago. So it's just a copy-cat design. We'll just see, won't we?
