Info on South African Airlines requested!

Hi ya,

I just had an argument with a friend of mine over the selection policies at South African Airlines.

She pointed out that SAA was subject to Affirmative Action in their recruiting of new cadets. According to her, SAA not only encourage blacks to apply to their cadet programme, but even fancy Blacks over Caucasians since there is a black government in charge.

I can't really believe this, as I think only the performance of each applicant on the testing day is all that counts. In my opinion it is negligible whether someone is black or white when applying to SAA.

So what's the deal on her claim? Just can't believe these are the true procedures of SAA...

It'd be great if someone could enlighten my ignorance!
