Setting up an RF. Instructor may be needed!

May be about to go it alone and set up an RF.

I have the location, nearby population, an R22, business experience, and a bit of spare change. I don't however know a great deal about these things (neither did Branson) and I don't have an instructor.

I know I have to register as an RF and this would require a QFI who will satisfy the CAA (So many abbreviations in this game!). So that's the first hurdle that someone may be able to help me out with. PM me to get full details.

From then on I suppose it's sheer hard work and determination that will take things further.

I am aware however that as an RF I can only do AB-initio and not conversions or type ratings. For this I would need to be an FTO. I have been trawling the CAA site for more info on this. Can anyone help me out. What are the extra requirements to become an FTO from an RF?

I would appreciate any thoughts on all of the above.

Thanks,
