Flight training in a non-JAA country problematic?

Have you thought of doing a FAA CPL & IR, then converting to JAA. It will probably work out about the same in terms of £/$, but you'll almost certainly end up with more varied experience, more hours, plus a FAA licence to sit alongside your JAR one.
