A lot of this traffic charter based means outgoing pax, it is having a negative impact on local tourism economy i.e. more outbound pax that inbound. Where is the catchment area.
Actually charter traffic is only a small percentage of traffic at NOC. Charter traffic may not be good for local tourism but it's good for employment, etc which in turn has other positive knock-on (sorry about the inevitable pun!) economic effects in the region. Most of the scheduled pax originate in the UK (mainly ex-pats) which also has a positive impact on the local economy. According to NOC management the catchment area is said to be about 1.5 million as it sucks in people from all of Connacht, the Midlands and even part of NI.
