A friend's son finished with Woolies recently. He was one of the five product line managers at the store. Expected to work seven days a week and be on call when he could snatch a few hours at home.
If he could improve the profitability of his area his competitiveness to become a store manager improved. If it fell below set forecasts, his family jewels were on the line. Loved the job, worked extremely hard, added to Woolworth's profit margin, and did this for well under $40,000 a year.
I might mention to him that there are few Jet* jobs coming up soon.
