If anyone is genuinely interested in HIA, write to John Doig, Manager ATS, Head Office at Inverness Airport. I don't know if they are actually training anyone at the moment, but if you have the potential, they'll put you through the aptitude tests (same as NATS), and in due course, put you through all the training.
In return, you'll have to agree to going to one of the outposts, as has been mentioned. Island life has it's advantages, but it is important to be able to escape occassionally.
The chances of getting a posting to Inverness are less than winning the Lottery.
I've been there, seen it, done it, got the t- shirt etc, it was nice for a change, but not a career for a younger person - more of a stepping stone.
