"But as we know midnight-63 got offered London which is FULLTIME."
Uh...midnight-63 got offered a Full Time position working for Qantas Cabin Crew UK on inferior terms and conditions compared to Australian Crew. I believe the term is 'overseas slave labour'. And if you don't believe me, read the Amicus agreement vs. FAAA agreement (240 hours anyone)?

That aside, of course, I'm not begrudging midnight-63 their moment in the sun. What I do begrudge (and not for me personally I might add), is that many others before him (like cart-tart) weren't given the SAME opportunity, having been considered 'successful' only months before!

"I don't know why you lot just can't be happy for us. You act like you have been so hard done by.
Happy? Hard DONE BY?

Let's break THAT one down:
* Hundreds of people on a shortlist are told 'thanks but no thanks cause you've been waiting too long' having gone through JUST AS AN EXHAUSTING & EXPENSIVE selection process as you have.

* Long Haul crew fight to prevent overseas bases opening up willy nilly over the world - while STRIKE BREAKERS put their hands up for the job (and yes, I admit, some weren't as informed or aware as much as others).

* Once the strike is averted, the new STRIKE BREAKERS are offered (in some cases) a London base position.

SO - you have someone that's been around for maybe 3-6 months getting a position over someone who was waiting 12-15 months for same!

Sure - that's business and that's life.

BUT YOU CANNOT EXPECT people to feel GLAD that others have been offered what one may reasonably assume to be rightfully theirs, as you continually point out, when they've gone through such a full on assessment.

"Hello, we did the assessment day, we did the training, we did the exams, we did the panel interviews, we passed medicals. No different to everyone else."
Ohhhh...you know what? So did we. We attended as many interviews and spent money on the medicals and security checks (unlike some in this recent round of strike-breaker recruiting).

We didn't, however, have the chance to attend training in the middle of the night wearing King Gees. Some may argue we got the better deal.

"If anything they have probably found this whole experience the best interview ever."
Best interview ever? What, people leaving the seminars mid-stream because they find out it's for strike-breaking? In droves I might add?

Strike breakers running to the media to complain (quite rightly) about the underhand 'waterfront' tactics of training?

How does paying people for work they'll never do amount to 'best interview ever', particularly if what Crop Dust has said has truth in it??

"Can't we just all be friends?"
Sure we can - provided you don't endorse strike-breaking.

Ps. Jettlager - consistent as ever!
