Life is ok here until:
Your shiny 4x4 gets trashed by some fool and you end up with the pink slip, or worse in jail;
You find yourself in the office fighting for your job because persons unknown wrote a report on you for some imagined misdemeanour;
You have a common mole diagnosed as cancer and spend several worrying weeks before finally getting an informed overseas opinion;
Your house is burgled but you end up in jail because the police found that your liquor license had expired;
You are assaulted in Satwa, report it to the police and end up in jail for fighting;
Every month you find it harder to cope financially because your salary is in US$ and falls well behind inflation;
Your brand new house in the Meadows starts developing serious cracks and nobody wants to take responsibility;
etc etc.
There is a darker side to life in Dubai, and it relates to control over one's life. Those that think they are in control are lucky. Deluded but lucky.
00bultril: Inviting more DECs? You show a disregard for your fellow pilots to the extent that you must be management.
Judging by the opinions of the guys I fly with, the numbers of disgruntled pilots in this ailine does not constitute a minority. Quite the opposite.
