Sounds like an allergic reaction.
Do you have duck or goose feather bedding/pillow?
A friend of mine had similar symptoms and it seems he was sensitive to either the feathers or the dust mites that lived there. Either way, the symptoms stopped as soon as he switched to synthetic fibres.
