I can't believe that the CAA would ever authorise as an Examiner any PPL FI who had not had the 'no applied instrument' restriction removed from his/her licence......

So yes, just get a UK/FE (PPL) to sign your licence, I would say.....

The problem with asking the CAA is that you'll get at least 3 opinions from any 2 different CAA flunkies.
