You do not have to actually put any money down as deposit if you organise things properly from UK before you leave. Provided you get a bank guarantee say against value of your house and provided the Bank guaranteeing it also has a branch in Singapore that is all that is required. It will of course involve fees but that will happen In Singapore if you go to DBS Bank who are familiar with this SQ business. They charge about S1850 for the paperwork and only pay you about 1% interest so it pays not to take money to Singapore other than the vast amount you will need to take to cover you until on line which will take between 4 and 5 months!! You could try DBS Bank in London if all fails. Standard Chartered is a good one too in UK
I hope you are not trying to run a family on what SQ Cargo are paying?? Also Bond run from 5 years from final line check.
