BA LGW
Just to confirm what the above posts have said, BA is planning to have only ONE fleet at LGW (As opposed to currently, a worldwide fleet..operating all routes not in Europe, and Eurofleet operating all routes within Europe)
Rod Eddington was down at LGW explaining what was to happen and today we have had 2 of the big bosses responsible for routes and planning etc, down to explain more.
Basically, subject to Union approval, all the worldwide crew at LGW will be given the option to transfer to LHR WW, or stay at LGW on Eurofleet terms and conditions...except I believe that they will keep their basic pay. Unless you are a CSD, as that rank will no longer exist at LGW. And all crew at LGW will operate both short and long haul flights on the 737/777.
As many have said, alot of EF crew are happy about it and a lot of WW crew are as well, especially those who wish to transfer to LHR. Understandably there a some who are unhappy, from both fleets.
There are so many rumours flying about Jubilee House at the moment (Even more than usual!!), so its a case of WATCH THIS SPACE!!
The aim seems to be, to make LGW more profitable by operating to a lower cost base, rather than going Lo-cost as it were.
