Hi at last a sensible thread.Yes you can use the brakes from the back,Cub brake as most will know can be awkward to operate,as they are heel brakes and not connected with the rudder pedals.Make sure you know your Cubs as some are flown solo from the front and some the back.I also reckon to start as you mean to go on sit the student in the P1 seat.Anyway the Instructor usualy feels more comfortable in the instructors seat,even if its the back of a T6.I for one like the back of a Chippy /further from the crash!!!
