Basically day VFR is fine with no further formality provided your Canadian licence and medical are current and valid.

Conversion to a JAR-FCL PPL(A) (should you so wish) will ultimately require a JAA medical, some exams and a Skill Test - with associated Examiner's fees, CAA issue fee etc. But your Canadain licence must also be current and valid in all respects when you apply!
