Not a dig at our fabulous ground crew but there is one interesting person out there and he hasn't changed in time I have know him. It's sort of on the tread but - earlier today:
We had to run between a/c (20mins prior to boarding) and one of my crew needed to sit and drink a coke (medi reasons). This individual, keeps saying in my ear, "are we right to board, we must board, there will be a delay". I turned to him on his 3rd repeat and said "We will have more than a problem if we have an unconscious crew member to deal with". "Get an airport reserve, there are heaps of them", in a very calm voice I replied "Not going to help if we are doing cpr, or will it, I'll take the delay if that happens".
As it turns out we closed the door 1 min early.
