I think the main attraction to those thinking of applying to Emirates is the 'abroad'/get away from home factor. New planes, tax-free salary, sunshine, loadsa routes, loads of nightstops, smart uniform and reputation.

Most people I've spoken to (including Emirates staff) do it for maybe 2-3 years for the money and the experience of life somewhere else. I certainly wouldn't turn down a job offer from them. I don't want to work as CC forever, neither do I think the job is all-glamorous (definitely not at a LCC! ) but 2-3 years at Emirates or similar sounds like an interesting experience to be savoured....

Sure, compounds/living with crew have their down-sides but I'd do it for a while at least....Dubai is a bit of a fantasy place I know, but it's still fun for a while...
