Death of John Barnao

ONE of Sydney's best known helicopter pilots has died of a serious illness at age 58.
John Barneo spent his career carrying photographers and TV camera operators to some of the biggest news stories in the past 30 years.
His wife Margaret told The Daily Telegraph yesterday he fell in love with helicopters in the early 70s when he began working for Channel 9.
``He knew where to put the helicopter so that they could get the best pictures,'' she said.
``Anything he went into he did with passion.'' Barneo is remembered by his wife Margaret, son Peter, daughters Kerrie-Ann and Maria and four grandchildren.

My information is that John died in the Adventist hospital last Wednesday.
