I was in the same situation a few years ago. With the recommendation of the CFI and "in view of my total experience on the R44" (which then stood at about 50 hours PIC), the CAA kindly waived the 15 hour in last 12 months requirement.
Despite what is often on this forum about the CAA, they are not always hidebound by regulation so it would be worth asking your CFI to have a chat with a Mr Rob/Rod?? McGregor on your behalf.
