I don't think Italians hoping Easyjet or Ryanair to start domestic flights.
Like passengers all around the world they only wish to pay less for their tickets.
If I'm not wrong now from Turin all the domestic destinations could be reach by 2/3 airlines (including AZ via FCO). That's helped to lower the medium fares ex TRN on all domestic routes.
In my opinion there will be an overcapacity problems next winter. Just for my record I checked AP, IG and AZ fares from TRN to CTA and I found from September one way fares excluding taxes and charges from €29. That's what I call a low cost fares. Considering by train it costs you more and it takes age.
