GTP,
It is a good question, but I have to stress the advice given by 4HolerPoler. Just be yourself! If you are a square peg, DO NOT try and make yourself into a round one to fit into the "EK Hole". Even if you are successful, you will be miserable when you get here, and then you will post on pprune about how bad EK is when you are partially to blame in the first place by not being yourself. To put it into a very basic form, "EK is looking for kids that can play nice in the sand box with the other kids." Most of the assessment process is seeing if you can get along in the group. Do you act as a leader some of the time and allow others to lead at other times. Can you, in a group setting solve problems. Both individually and as a group. Not only mentally but physical as well. ( the lego practice is a good idea). Some of the tasks have no correct answer, you are being judged on the process.

Also you have to be able to fly. Most of the assessment rides are in the AB 310, but some have been in the 777. You have to be able to pass the interview. Research the questions and know the answers. You had better have a working knowledge of Islam, because you will be asked.

All of this is geared towards the fact that we have hired pilots from over 50 countries, and they have to get along while in the cockpit. Thus, "can you play nice with the other kiddies in the sand box".

And yes, there are many pilots from the sub contintent, as well as from every where else.

Good luck,
