Same problem as i've been experiencing for the past 8 years or so - there is an operation to fix the weakness around the top of the stomach to fix this weakness - believe the labour guy David Blunkett had this op. not so long ago - not sure how successful the outcome is though. I'm currently taking 40mg pantoprazole for the problem and mentioned this to the AME's at Gatwick before my class 1 and passed with no problems, so it seems that at least for me it wasn't a problem. Definitely worth further discussion with your G.P. as a gastroscopy is usually helpful just to make sure nothing untoward is occuring down in the stomach/oesophagus area (apparently a condition called barretts oesophagus can occur, pre-cancerous condition but treatable if diagnosed early enough). I'm sure that's not the case for you but better to have too much info. than too little. Hope this post is of some help.
