Final Vectors
Although I'm sure that working Heathrow Approach and other positions is a very worthwhile and satisfying position, are you aware of the cost of living in the south of England?
For sure, you would earn a very good salary, but the cost of housing is beyond reallity, and commuting via our dialpidated system of roads and railways is a nightmare. To be honest with you, I wouldn't choose to work at any of the airports south of EGSS for all the money in the world.
Working tower and approach at a UK regional airport I earn less money than my colleagues who do the same job at Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and others, but I reckon that my quality of life is way above anyone who lives in the commuter belt of South and South East England, (4 bedroom detached house in a rural area, 30 minutes to work maximum, but with all the facilities of a major city within 20 minutes, and 2 hours from London by train).
Still, it would be something differnt to put on your CV.
