The men who are Canadian nationals were arrested after a flight from New-York to London was diverted to Shannon.

The American Airlines passenger jet was diverted to Shannon airport at 6 O`Clock this morning following the incident on board the flight.

The men in their early 40`s were removed from the plane by customs officials and taken to Shannon Garda station for questioning

They`re due to face four counts of assault on members of the cabin crew as well as charges of criminal damage when they appear before Ennis District Court this afternoon.

The court began sitting at 11 O` Clock this morning before Judge Joeseph Mangan but so far the two accused have no appeared.

This morning`s air-rage incident is the second to arise at Shannon airport in less than a week

Last Friday a Canaries bound flight from Belfast was diverted there last when a 48 year Antrim man engaged in threatening and abusive behaviour on board a flight

Michael McCallion received a suspended 3 month sentence and was fined almost 2000 euro after appearing before Judge Mangan at Tulla District Court on Tuesday.

Lock 'em up for ever, castrate them, do unspeakable things to 'em.
