Gday mainwheel,
In my limited understanding, B1 & B2 are not at present obtainable under the old recognition system between casa and the caa. apparently there are a number of issues to be resolved between JAA members and the oz licence is not one of them. there does appear to be some light on the horizon though as the nz caa and casa are slowly aligning with the jaa system, which will hopefully mean conversion is possible, but likely a few years away yet. (pity as there are good contracts in EU)
nb; icao type 1 is an overhaul licence (workshop)
icao type 2 is a line maint licence
ps i heard u went back to se asia, or are u back in home base again?
