Went to Sandown for lunch again yesterday and spoke to Larry Evans, the airport manager. He is willing to do a deal regarding the reduced landing fee, but would need to know a reasonable estimate of numbers. I guess we have about 10 so far, but if we can get a commitment and supply an accurate figure, he is very willing to help us out.
Although it has not been advertised, Larry also informed me that Sunday 16th May will be a 'free' day. This applies only to the landing fee

. Yesterdays butty was particularly good, better than my landing (strong crosswind)
Sandown also has a website (
www.isleofwightairport.co.uk), and plans to build a large 'terminal' building with restaurant, bar and a good viewing area on the first floor.
