Returning from a SAR mission over the GOM flying at 10,000 feet. CAVU in a still wind day and not a cloud in the sky. Mississippi was beautiful from this altitude. Green as far as you could see interrupted only by rivers and lakes and bordered by the Gulf of Mexico. This was true bliss. That is until the pilot spied a yellow smoke trail rising to above our altitude. Being inquisitive he headed toward the cloud only to find out it was emanating from a paper mill. Suddenly the interior of the airplane smelled like rotten eggs from the sulfur di Oxide. A feeling of wanting to puke interrupted the feeling of bliss.
