If you think that the date that MyTravelLite announced they were dropping BFS from May had anything to do with the Group’s AGM then you’re in dreamland. The MyTravel Group plc has a annual turnover of £4.2 billion, of which MyTravelLite might realistically represent 1.5%. How much of an impact in the City do you think MyTravelLite dropping its planned five times-a-week S04 service to BFS has?
Besides which, if any institutional shareholder, bank or bondholder did notice that MyTravelLite were dropping BFS, they’d hopefully see the sense in cutting out an under-performing route.
By the way, can anyone confirm the rumour that Ryanair are refusing to give refunds to pax who booked BHX-MJV and BHX-GRO for Summer 04 on the grounds that EMA is an ‘equivalent’ replacement? I’m sure it would hurt Ryanair to give refunds, so that pax who wanted to could go and book a BHX flight with Lite, but there must be a legal limit to the definition of ‘equivalent replacement’.
