So pilots and students cease to be human in the flight deck/cockpit and do not act in ways that are generic to life?

Seriously, I think we are all heading towards broad agreement anyway - and I think that in answer to your point, I think that somebody who has managed to survive 3000 hours and become a PPL examiner (not a particularly easy achievement I understand) has probably demonstrated enough maturity that we need not worry unnecessarily.
