There's no "MYT protection effort". I don't know who you work for or whether any company that you have worked for has gone thru what MYT has over the last 18 months, but when you see lies and utter rubbish written about your company then it's right that you defend it. Surely that's a consequency of having a loyal work force? Yes, the truth is, and has been, written about the state of MYT but also unfounded garbage. In any walk of life when you see outsiders, all be it press or individuals, comment on your industry, profession, or company, a lot is factually incorrect. Radio 2 yesterday - guest comes from Cranliegh - presenter says "Ah that's famous for the RAF isn't it?" - guest says, "No, thats Cranfield isn't it?" - "Yes" they agree! Perhaps they were thinking about Cranwell, althoughCranfield has had a prowd RAF past but maybe not as much as the RAFC Cranwell.
Those of us that work for MYT will all acknowledge that the company almost went under several times over the past 18 months, and indeed may still do so(there's no manopoly on going bust in this industry as we have seen this week), however, we are in a far better position to go forward than 6, 12 or 18 months ago. Suggesting that there's a "MYT protection effort" on PPRuNe is somewhat over the top and "smacks of an organised campaign" is almost impossible: If you work in the aviation industry, you must realize that this is again utter rubbish, as it would imply that a bunch of pilots would have to get off their buts and do some organising! It's just not going to happen, is it?
It is only right and natural to defend your own, especially against, as what we perceive, as incorrect, unjust or biased comment. There are also several thousand of us employed by MYT, so you shouldn't be surprised if there are a number who wish to make comment and defend ourselves on this BB.
