FJJP - Yes, logbooks and auth sheets are still supposed to match. However, despite the fact that we now seem to have more Sqn Execs than operators, when was the last time anyone had their logbook cross checked against the auth sheets for accuracy (maybe a trappers visit?)?. I expect most people could write anything in their log book (provided it looked reasonable) and get away with it these days, including a zero minutes flight!
P.S I heard recently that the Aussies log flights to the nearest 6 minutes, i.e .1 of an hour. Thus flights are say 2.4 hrs, 1.3 etc, and adding up your log book is so much easier, saves a fortune in snowpake! Cn anyone confirm this?
