5 years ago I used to fly EK a lot and they were the best for service UK - UAE in fact my colleagues and I unfortunately used to think that BA stood for bad attitude in comparison! However companies change.(I hope BA for the better)
ID 90 as I understand it puts you at the back of the queue to get on the plane. If its empty and you are very lucky and polite and appropiately dressed it might put you in the queue for a seat upgrade if the Cabin Crew decide they need or want to, its a little like hitchhiking really.
Different parts of the world do have different approaches to politeness! maybe you just dicovered that Dubai isnt for you and as a non muslim (I presume)you are in fact a secound class citizen,better to learn that before moving so it was worth the trip, unlike some of EK's pilots who seem to be only just discovering this .On that point I don't think they'll miss you as a potential DEC, so really everyone comes out tops.
