Having read your replies I have just re-read my message above and I have spotted an error. I missed out an important word. I have re-written the applicable sentence:
"...but the fault lies squarely with the person who wrote the citation and NOT the RAF as an organisation."
Tomorrow I shall study the rules governing the awards of commendations and medals. I shall then comment on your caustic replies.
