The David Clark ANR headsets are very good. But... 25hours on a 9V? I got sucked in by that one as well!
I can get max 15 out of an alkaline and about 10 out of a rechargeable.
There were a few other brands around when I bought mine. I looked at the BOSE ones as well but the $$ was too high and theft was also a consideration where I am. I can leave the DC's on the yoke and know one is really the wiser that they are any different from a pair of 13.4's.
I spoke to a dealer about the ANR and Softcomm types and he looked at me and said "Mate, Korean headsets made for Korean heads, let the price tell you" (sorry if anyone has those types!
)
I paid $1150 +GST for mine (10-13XL) but they are cheaper than that now I believe.
