I have in mind, that there has been some court cases going on concerning bonding for initial types, therefore bondings up to 1 year are legal but not for longer as then a recurrent is needed and the Rating would be useless without a recurrent.
Concerning recurrent i have in mind, that bondings are not legal as the recurrent is in the interest of the company to keep you flying.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Pls keep in mind, this is concerning EU Law only.
That doesn't make much sense. Yeah, the rating is not valid as you need an LPC, but if you do an LPC within 3 years, the rating is automatically renewed/revalidated without any further training requirements. So you can't say the rating is useless. The rating is yours, not theirs.
Applying your logic, then if you lose your medical you can't exercise your licence and rating privileges, so does the bond stop? Of course not. You have a bond to cover initial training costs, nothing else.
