What's wrong with just buying PA-28s or 172s ?
Both 1960s aircraft, non-aerobatic (the aircraft will be doing EFT on UASs with aeros on the syllabus as well as AEF, besides, the cadets love going upside down) and there are plenty of newer designs that are far more efficient than an old spamcan.
