I read somewhere that Bell fitted a similar one to their latest creation, then after testing they fitted a full width stabilizer. Seems amazing that it's gone on for so long before the change.
See my comments re the changes made to the Bell 505 at post #426 in "Robinson R66 (merged threads)". David Smith (formerly at Bell) explains the background for the evolution of the stabiliser on the 505 in post #430 of that thread and it differs to reasoning for change on the R66.
