But, helicopters don’t use IRS per se. The AHRS can provide DR data to the FMS to aid its BCP, but does not calculate its own position like an IRS.
That is not completely accurate, there are helicopters that have IRS installed for determining and keeping position, especially for in a GPS denied environment. Clearly mostly military… I know the H145m for example has one, but Apaches, Chinooks as well.
For RNP AR procedures, I think an IRS is also required. However, as helicopters generally have smaller cockpits, the IRS controls are mostly controlled from the integrated screens and FMS.
