Yes, but when Bain rode in and saved VA, REX still had several months to pull out of the deal with PAG. In fact the very reason for the whole expansion into domestic Jet Operations (as you have correctly observed) was predicated on the demise of Virgin Australia. When that didn't come to pass, what did REX do?
