When I did my integrated CAP509 ATPL course at a UK school in the late '90s; the school was (reasonably) good, we paid in instalments, (and I got very good results FWIW).
And, crucially, most airlines at that time only wanted students from integrated schools, not those from the modular route.
Sounds as if things have turned 180° since then, and that schools have gone down the route of concentrating on money rather than the service they are supposed to provide.
Come on guys, these cadets will be flying you and your families on your holidays in the future, so stop ripping them off and give them a decent training - as you have been paid to do.
