This accident may not even be related to anything mentioned in this thread. I heard about it from a Mt Hagen based pilot.

Lots of weird stuff has happened in PNG over the years, both in fixed and rotary wing. Not sure why the reports aren’t available online, probably to early before internet and social media ramped up. Lots of accidents that I’m aware of that aren’t available online.

I doubt anything weird or unusual would go undetected these days in PNG, particularly with ADS-B, social media and internet in most places now.
