Be cautious.
Some schools push for a $3-$5/hr up charge to ‘buy off’ the insurance deductible which they may claim is $5000 or higher.
Everyone thinks it’s a great deal, still doesn’t let you off the hook entirely if the insurance company decides to go after you.
I know of a school that rakes in $30,000 a year with that scam.
Which means they can cover an entire hull loss of a C152/Pa28/C172 in a little over a year, while they don’t actually hold hull insurance just liability.
Hull insurance is not required in the USA.
Don’t get me started on medical doctors in the USA. Health care is a full blown commercial operation. You come in with a sore throat and leave with an MRI and a full skin cancer screening and a recommendation for a sleep apnea study.
I’m only very marginally exaggerating here
There’s a reason why this country invented the “second opinion”…… as your first MD might be trying to royally shaft you.
