I guess we finally have a good reason to persuade our employers for purchasing modern aeroplanes. In addition to the maintenance bills and downtimes they already have to endure (ours was grounded for 14 months during the last two years for lack of spares and qualified technicians)...
I did my last OPC on type with one of the three remaining TREs in Germany because FSI in Farnborough did not have the capacity for my checkride, and in the future it will be the LPC as well. Steep approach I don't care for (our C560 is not officially capable anyway because it lacks the relevant supplement of it's manual) and LVTO even less. I had 125m LVTO training bi-annually during the last 15 years and used it exactly zero times in real life.
Tomorrow I am off to my (probably) last recurrent training with the last EASA certified C550 simulator. I will ask the few remaining people on that programme about their ideas of how to get along in the future!
