Rice is an Australian Greens senator. Rice's motion dealt specifically with one of their pet topics - aircraft noise. McKenzie then attempted to have a review of AsA added via an amendment. That amendment - the topic of your thread-starting post - was defeated. The Greens' original motion for the sub-committee to review aircraft noise was agreed to unamended.
