For someone unlucky enough to want to earn this (not me, time off > more cash always) would they then be forced to take this time off as leave at the end of the year in that case anyway. Seems very dishonest to include this and pensions in headline salary but as long as it is well explained I suppose they can do what they want.
The A/L allowance is what you get paid on the days you have leave, not in lieu of days you don't take
