slightly digressing, the developers of aviation mapping products create their own waypoint identifiers for waypoints without any official identifier.

Unfortunately, in the UK, NATS haven’t given any identifiers for VFR waypoints leading to the various developers, Garmin, ForeFlight, etc creating their own ( and usually different ) identifiers for VFR waypoints.
