Equating this to Robodebt Clinton? Wow. You've spent far too much time working from home in that Canberra bubble.

It wasn't too long ago that an average for these guys was recorded as 11 or so sick days per annum, which when you compare it to the Monday-Friday 9-5 pen pusher class across the APS at 13.6, was a phenomenal achievement. Remember, they've got strict, legislated fitness for duty requirements, work 24/7/365 on horrendous rosters and mostly on an appallingly designed ergonomic workstation (I hear back injuries are rife).

Add to that they cover the organisational knee jerks with a minimum of fuss. Case in point was Dick's Tassie night surveillance approach experiment which saw a number of them work up to 1000 nightshifts over ten years without a single break, typically pitching up for their mornings and afternoon rotations in the ensuing days without missing a beat. Not the greatest recipe for a bulletproof immune system. Try it, even as a work from home experiment Clinton.

These stories are common across the whole organisational landscape, you need to leave Canberra for five minutes and open your eyes. Instead, you chose to draw a parallel with a program that resulted in dozens of suicides and now subject to an inquiry. Shameful.
